If your carpet washer is not removing stains effectively, try the following steps:
- Pre-treat the stain: Use a suitable carpet stain remover, following its instructions and testing it on a small, hidden area first.
- Use the correct cleaning solution: Only use Swan-approved or compatible carpet cleaning solutions, following the recommended dilution and dosage.
- Make slow, overlapping passes: Move the washer steadily over the stained area and repeat as needed. Avoid over-wetting the carpet.
- Check the brushes: Switch off and unplug the machine before checking for tangled hair, debris or obstructions around the brush area.
- Remove excess moisture: Make additional passes without spraying to help extract dirty water and loosened residue.
Some stains may be permanent or require specialist treatment. Always check the carpet manufacturer's care instructions before cleaning.
